Oh, best Niagara trip ever :)
Debbie makes me laugh like no other. We only stayed over on Fri but it was pretty much a one-night thing just to go to the new nightclub in the casino.
Let me just say, we hadn't stayed in a 1 or 2-star place til now, haha. Deb booked the place on suggestion from her sister cuz we only needed a room to sleep in for like 6 hrs and shower and that's pretty much it. So it sounded like a decent place on a budget cuz we didn't need anythin fancy or for that long.
When we drove up to the motel, L was already makin comments, haha. I don't even know the name of it, it wasn't any chain like Days Inn even...it was just some small Niagara motel. We just called it the Dive Motel :P It wasn't much from the outside. From Deb's description, it was a place on top of a resturant or somethin. We were like, oh, OK...well guess we don't need a VIP suite, whatever. It actually wasn't on top of anythin, it was just like a long portable. Like those extra classrooms outside of the real school when they have more students than actual building to put them in.
That's fine, we're not divas. Then we saw the pool and that was just hilarious. It was like 10 feet long and 5 feet deep and had signs sayin No Diving, hahaha. "Who wants to go in the hot tub?"
The room itself was pure small. Deb kept apologizing, hahaha. I'd like to think I'm alright in these situations, like I can live in ghetto conditions and rough it out. We had beds (almost single size but anyway) and a bathroom and at least a workin TV (but no remote cuz you had to give a deposit), I was good. L, on the other hand, is a princess, haha.
Our sole window overlooked the alley next to the (by comparison) classy Days Inn, haha. Good times. Oh well, we only paid like 30 bucks each for it so what're you gonna do.
We went to the Falls and did the whole picture thing, even tho we've been there enough times and we're not exactly tourists. Visited the Hershey Store of course, then went to dinner at Boston Pizza. Ate too much, chilled in the room for a bit. Then we headed out to Dragonfly. Not before goin in unnecessary circles cuz we realized we didn't know where the eff we were goin or how to get there. We basically walked the wrong direction all the way down Clifton Hill, up to the Planet Hollywood to get directions, then back up Clifton Hill, then AROUND Casino Niagara, then thru Casino Niagara to catch the shuttle to get to Fallsview Casino which is the casino that the club is in, and waited in line for the bus. Then we realized the shuttle for was 'Gold Card Members' which of course we weren't, but they nicely let us on cuz they take on other ppl if there's room after all the Members had gotten on :P And the shuttle went around the front of the casino where we had just been so we got a good look at the backtracking we did. Our whole view on the the disorientation and waitin in line was, "At least we didn't have to walk to the casino!" LOL Cuz damned if we trekked that long way on foot.
The club was fun. Drinks and randoms and retarded dancin ;) It will be known that I didn't drink too much and was fine that night and after!
We made a bunch of late night/early morning trips to Clifton Hill but I won't get into that. We briefly chatted with a couple guys hangin around by the pool at like 3 am, haha. "Let's make friends tonight." LOL
We got up gross early the next day, checked out, and got breakfast at Denny's. We did a drive around Clifton Hill and saw Kevin from work walkin down the street, haha. What're the odds that we were would be there, on that day, at that time?
We drove home around noon. Oh yeah, I had gotten a call on Fri from my gen. manager that they needed coverage in my dept on Sat cuz Kane would be runnin the floor so there wouldn't be anyone to close, which is dumb since they knew this when the schedule was made and I booked Sat off. I told him I'd be in Niagara and not sure when I'd be back in town but I felt bad cuz they were stuck so I said I'd see what time I'd get in. He said he's put me in for 4-9 but I'm like fuck no, I'm not rushin myself back to go to work on my day off, I'm doin
them a favour. But he said whenever was fine, and to call if I'd be late and thanks so much and all that, so it was casual. So it turned out I actually got home in time to be there for 4 but I wasn't gonna hurry when I was JUST in Niagara that morning and unpacked and whatnot. I strolled in around 5 cuz I wasn't technically scheduled and what're they gonna do? Get on me for bein 'late'? :P And the hrs weren't countin towards my shifts for the week so I was basically there to just deal with the customers.
So yeah, worked til close on Sat. I was glad to stay in that night and chill. Watched
Kill Bill with my brother. I didn't get a lot of sleep the night before so I went to bed and got up for a noon shift for work the next day.
Mon I actually had a closing shift 5-9 so I appreciated the sleepin in. I saw Michelle and Angela (the seasonal girls). Bought the 2nd season of "Laguna Beach" for my sister. I still have to start the 1st one before the new 3rd season starts on MTV.
OMG yesterday was just another work day til someone COLLAPSED. A man was standin at the cell phones and I asked if I could help him. He wanted to see Kane so I told him I'd go get him. I went up to the front and told Kane his customer was there to see him. We walked back to the dept, they shook hands and started talkin about cell phones. I heard Kane ask, "Are you OK?" I looked up and the man looked like he was feelin sick and like he wanted to sit down. I didn't think it was that serious but then the man started to tip and Kane had to hold him up. I came around the kiosk to help and the guy was like crumblin to the floor. I told Kane to just lay him down. Kane went to get help and I stayed with the guy. He seemed like he was havin chest pains or somethin so I asked if he had a heart condition. He kinda said yes but he wasn't gettin the words out, plus his english wasn't that great. Sandra came and VJ called 911. The man was hittin his chest and Sandra was calmin him down and turnin him over onto his side cuz he kept wantin to lie on his back. The fire station just so happens to be down the block so they came pretty quick. Then the EMS ppl came. I'm still not sure what was wrong with him. I think they were sayin that he was on medication and didn't know what he was takin. But some of us were sayin that he might've mixed with alcohol cuz he did smell like he had been drinkin. No idea.
The freaky thing is I was just in the lunch room on my break, standin by the fridge, waitin for my food in the microwave. I was lookin at the bulletin board with posts up about shoplifters and these certifications of who had first aid training. It had the names of all the managers who were trained and I read Sandra's. Again, what're the odds? Then she was the one who helped the guy...I don't think any one of us woud've known what to do. I can predict the future, maaaaan :P
It was crazy busy at work today. At least I made decent money tho...cuz I'm gonna need it.
I finally got to the mall. I went with my brother cuz my mom told me to take him, haha. I had to get new boots for work. They say you're not allowed to wear runners so I wasn't gettin dress shoes to wear all day, plus my pants are kinda long so I need the height. So I bought $100 boots from Aldo :P A hundred dollar boots for
work. But they're high and black and that leathery waterproof type so I can go out in them for the winter too so.
Agh, another month that's gonna HURT the credit card.
